God’s Word is a blueprint for building free, just, and prosperous nations. It addresses all areas of life. The Ten Commandments contain principles that, if obeyed, produce life — life for men and nations — but if ignored, produce death. This course contains the importance of the commands for us today and gives an overview of them, highlighting the positive corollaries of the negative laws. Jesus reiterated the importance of God’s law and taught many political principles, including: government is to serve all men equally, limited government, gradual democratic change, and steps for resisting tyranny.

Christianity is the source of civil liberty and American constitutionalism. This course examines how civil liberty is a product of the Bible in the hands of the people and looks briefly at many significant civil documents of liberty in British and American history. Barton shows from America’s history, past and present, that our nation will be blessed if the righteous rule, but will have problems and decline if the ungodly govern. A call for Christians to get involved in selecting those who govern us. Plus, a Biblical perspective of crime and punishment. One session contains three TV programs by Joyce Meyer Ministries on our responsibilities as Americans to maintain our liberties. Discussions with Joyce and Dave Meyer, Alan Keyes, Peter Marshall, McDowell, and Beliles on our Christian foundations and how to restore Godliness to America today.
