Thomas Jefferson’s letter to theDanbury Baptists in 1802 first expressed the metaphor that Americans most commonly associate with the FirstAmendment. Where does it stand after 200 years? The Supreme Court continues to issue seemingly contradictory opinions. Positions of these issues vary greatly among government leaders, professors, and American citizens. In this symposium you will hear diverse opinions on the “wall of separation” from professors, lawyers, ministers, and educators, from both secular and Christian organizations.
